As I feel increasingly uneasy with Instagram and its practices, I feel like sharing my work there is actually a little pointless. It’s really disheartening to spend hours recording and editing to make a reel, only to lose followers. I’m not quitting Instagram, and I enjoy using Substack as a newsletter. But Substack’s notes feature also has come to feel like I’m shouting into the void. Maybe here, on a website I actually own is the best place for me to share images without feeling any pressure. This won’t detract from my Substack newsletter, or discourage me from my usual posting once a week on Instagram. I’m not going to promote this little adventure, so if you’re here, hello!
